We've been using this pool for the last several years and love it. Beats having to maintain an Excel sheet and manually coded website. Here's how we run ours but I've had to do a lot of hacking of the code as a result, and do some straight HTML for other features. I would like to see if these ideas could be incorporated.

1. We have a deadline of 12PM on Friday for picks. (Don't ask. this has been a running battle with my brother). Can we set an arbitrary deadline in the admin section?
   
2. We run a two survivor pools but would like to see the second one begin concurrently (if necessary) at Week 11 since most people are already gone from the first by then. The survivor pool should also have the ability to run into the playoffs instead of being a stand-alone app for the season separate from the playoffs.
   
3. The playoff wins should be counted in the overall wins for the season as our pool consists of: Weekly winner, Playoffs winner, overall winner (season + playoffs), Two survivor pools and Super Pool.
4. Speaking of which, our Super Pool consists of everyone picking two teams to participate in the Super Bowl. Everyone must have different picks.

We're expecting 70 players this year. Everyone pays up front and picks every week. $1 per player goes to the weekly winner. $5 goes into each survivor pool, $10 goes into the Super Pool and the rest gows into the "Big Pool" for the overall most wins. We don't use tie-breakers. We split prizes in case of ties.

I use to do this with paper and pencil so I understand the tradition of a cutoff time. But then again, one of the reasons why I originally wrote the online app was to avoid having to deal with the last minute rush In any case, it probably could be made into a configurable option, but I haven't gotten to it. The link kamokid pointed out will do the trick.

 The second chance survivor pool is another popular request that I haven't gotten around too. If you want a quick an dirty solution, set up a separate installation of the pool. As far as running into the playoffs, it's certainly possible but the big complication is the use each team once rule.

Not a bad idea on the overall, but again it gets really complicated from a coding standpoint. Mainly because all the post season pools are optional so you have a number of possible combinations to account for.

Interesting take on a Super Bowl pool. How do you decide who picks in what order? Or is it at random?

I was also looking for some help on lock times, the link kamokid posted is no longer available :( anyone have the info copied anywhere?
