This week Rams and 49'ers played a tie game, 24-24. When i updated the scores, and entered 24-24 and checked the OT checkbox, i then went and wanted to see the result page and i get this error:

I have set the ALLOW_TIE_PICKS = false in the config.asp page. So the system should add half points for the tied games.

Has anyone had this same issue, or does anyone know what could be wrong...????

SQL version headaches

I'm getting so frustrated nith this SQL version of the pool. I have been having issues with the managing accounts. Payment log. And now I just tried to update the scores for the games and I'm getting errors with that as well. I really wish someone was out there to help. I have about 39 people in my pool and I really hope that I don't have to switch back to the access version. Please someone help

Hi.

We've finally begun to use this package for our pool...so far, it's been working great.

Got one suggestion, please consider for next year.

At the userLogin.asp, it would be nice if we can remove the option of an anonymous visitor to create their own account...the Admin would create all the accounts for all the participants, so users don't accidentally create new users...

I am thinking of a constant in config.asp that we can turn on/off.

Remove the dropdown from the login tweak.

I found the dropdown with all the users a security concern. If a hacker wanted to get in he would already have the users and for a hacker that is the hard part, cracking the password is a simple task.

Any way here is the changes if anyone is interested..

i change some code last week to get the picks to close on thursday night per a post earlier, so after last nights monday night game it seems that the points for the tie breaker are being added wrong. from waht i can tell it added the points together and it looks like it came up with 49 points instead of 59 pts. see below: mizz DEN 45 (4) 9/14 (0.643) Tom C SD 45 (4) 9/14 (0.643) Greg O DEN 55 (6) 9/14 (0.643) it shows that the top to guys were closer to the score which is incorrect. any ideas? this is what got changed only: if Weekday(gameDateTime) = vbThursday and gameDateTime

locking picks

is there a way to lock all picks at one time. right now if i set the config file for 3hr before the thursday night game, all the sunday and monday games are still available. is there a way to lock all of them, besides going into the config file and set the timer for 100hr, then i have to go back in on monday and change the time again 'Time zone difference between host server and database schedule (Eastern). const TIME_ZONE_DIFF = -3 thanks for any help, if that made any sense.

How to require funds before play

If you wish to require your players to have sufficient funds in their account before they are able to make picks, this is how to do it.

First, insert the following function somewhere in common.asp (it is in the \includes folder)

You can put it just about anywhere in the file right after one of the "end sub" or "end function" lines

I'm hoping that some of the ASP gurus on this forum can help me. I would like to "tweak" the weeklySummary.asp file to eliminate the Weekly Pool Winners display and to limit the Individual Weekly Pool Statistics display to the following columns.

Name Played Won Overall Picks Total Pts

I would then change the heading from Individual Weekly Pool Statistics to Overall Pool Statistics. I have tried deleting different portions of the file but keep getting error msgs due to the fact that I don't know ASP enough to figure this out. Thanks.

Please contact me asap to make a few minor tweaks to my installation. I am running a CONFIDENCE pool version. 1) I want the RESULTS page to include a MINUS TOTAL in the far right. Right now it shows how many points you are away from the point leader for that week however I want it to show the TOTAL POINTS LOST for that week for each player.
2) I want the RESULTS PAGE to show ALL THE PLAYERS NAMES instead of ONLY the players who have turned in picks. If a player has not turned in picks I simply want the picks to have a question mark (?) or "NONE YET!" in place of where the X's are (before games) and where the chosen points are (after games start). 3) This one is only if it can be done easily (you are a good asp programmer)... I would like it to email the players their picks each time they make their picks or edit their picks. The email must contain their picks, date/time ip addie etc. If you have the aptitude and experience to do this correctly and quickly... hit me up asap please! I am open to payment and depending on if other people want it or not I will simply charge whatever is fair so that the cost is basically divided equally... hell... maybe you will do it for free or close to it which would open me up to supplying it to everyone here for free! Re-running the Survivor Pool

OK, so I only had 14 people in my Survivor pool, and as of week-3 we have a winner. Anyone know if I can restart it for week-4 or week-5 by changing the "config.asp" file to reflect the new start week, but to still maintain all the accounting balances from the old pool and the still running weekly confidence pool?

There were 4 remaining survivor players, and all 4 lost this week, which means the contest should go forward to this week. However, it says all of them are eliminated and doesn't allow any picks for this week. Help is appreciated. Thanks

We have been using this pool for 4 years and this is the first time I have seen this. The site has declared the wrong user as this weeks winner. The user in question got the tiebreak score right and it seems that the site has decided to declare him the weekly winner as a result. Ha!

Now, we recently activated the confidence points as well as the quick picks options could this have a bearing on the weekly winner?

Otherwise we have made no changes at all.

Got one suggestion, please consider for next year.

It would be nice if Admin can set what day of the week would be the last day a user can enter...because NFL now has games on Thursday, so we would like to close the pool on Wednesdays/Thursday morning, including the following Sunday games...

I am thinking of a constant in config.asp that we can turn set...0 for Sunday, 1 for Monday, etc...

Has anyone developed an addon or created an asp file that would list the total confidence points for the season. As an example, I have a total 179 points after two weeks. The file would list the player name, and total confidence points accumulated.
